About Red Fort

The Red Fort is a historic Mughal fortification in Old Delhi built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1639. Its massive red sandstone walls enclose palaces, audience halls, and gardens. The fort is where the Prime Minister of India hoists the national flag on Independence Day each year.
